Stay tuned for more about Charleston food to come next week, and to see the charming boutique hotel where we stayed, check out Monday’s post.We recommend selecting Two-Day Express when shipping your southern staples. If you’re going to Charleston, Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit definitely needs to be at the top of your itinerary. I see buttermilk biscuits in my immediate future. Please open in NYC! Oh, wait… they ship nationwide. They just assume what you’ll add will be cream. Also at every eatery we went to, they asked you if you want “room for cream,” when they pour the coffee. No soy milk, almond milk, skim milk, 2%, like you see in coffee shops here. They had two offerings for lightening your coffee – cream, and whole milk. I love how different Charleston is from NYC. Like, the epitome of what you look for in a Southern biscuit. I honestly can’t describe – I mean, biscuits are one of those foods where even when they’re bad they’re still good, and these were GOOD. There are several biscuit varieties on offer – I stuck with the classic buttermilk, and also tried a cinnamon. The menu is as small as the petite shop itself, because they focus on one thing and one thing only: Incredibly. All of the food in Charleston was pretty amazing, but my very favorite (and the only place I made a point of visiting twice), was Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit on King St.
